How do I obtain it?
ScrantonCoin can be obtained by attending events such as sports games, presentations, club meetings, and other opportunities on the earn page. In Decision Lab, the faucet lets you practice with a starting balance.
How do I access it?
Use the Decision Lab browser simulation for wallets, transfers, and offers: open Decision Lab. Mobile apps are under maintenance (Google Play and the App Store).
Where can I use ScrantonCoin?
Current locations and partner offers are on the spend page. Redeem practice offers inside Decision Lab’s store.
What about clubs?
Clubs do not have a separate route or account type. Join as a student and earn at club meetings. See Earn.
What is a cryptocurrency?
By definition, a cryptocurrency is “a digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank.” It is not a physical object but an entirely virtual one.
What is a blockchain?
A blockchain acts as a ledger for a cryptocurrency. It records transactions made with that cryptocurrency. Because the blockchain is maintained through a peer-to-peer network across many computers, it may be viewed by anybody.
Is ScrantonCoin anonymous?
ScrantonCoin is backed by a blockchain that stores transactions, which can be viewed by anybody. Each transaction on the blockchain is itself anonymous.
Can you mine ScrantonCoin?
No. ScrantonCoin cannot be mined. The tokens have already been created.
What is the main goal?
The main goal is to motivate students to obtain ScrantonCoin through engagement at the university. For businesses, it is a marketing tool: it brings students in to spend the coins they have earned.
